Bearing and Seal kits for Lippert 4400lb axles?
I have a 2019 Cougar 26RBSWE which uses the Lippert 4400lb axles. I would like to get a set of bearing/seal kits to have on hand in the event I need to do a replacement, but can't seem to find them. I can't find these axles on eTrailer and the Lippert site does give any axle details at all (that I can find).
Can someone please help me find the right parts to purchase for my axles?

First pic is bearing info... could be cross referenced at NAPA
2nd pic is grease seal... could also be cross referenced at NAPA

Are these Dexter axles? The stickers on the axles say Lippert?

Accord8ng to Trekwood.com your trailer has the D-44 series axle... This axle is made by Dexter... Lippert I believe has purchased D3xter axle ... but I’m not certain
Regardless ... Lippert itself does not list a 4.4K axle anywhere on their axle website

If your that concerned about a bearing failure why not just replace them with Timkens and not worry about it.

I have Dexter 4400# axles on my 22RBS and just did the bearings.
The bearings are LM67048 and L68149, and the seal is an 010-019-00.

Here's a picture of what I pulled out of mine. If you zoom in on them you can see the part numbers. They are all readily available commonly used components.

Thanks all - the pointer to Dexter is a big help. The stickers saying Lippert on them really threw me
Is there a cross reference to Timken bearings? I found a cross reference guide, but couldn't understand what it was telling me.
Also, is there a better version of the grease seal or is the Dexter seal all there is?
I don't think I "need" anything better - just want to know what my options are.

If you do upgrade to Timken bearings, be sure to replace the bearing races to Timken races for that axle. And. yes, the Dexter seals are all you need, as they are exactly what is designed for that axle, regardless of which brand of bearing is used. The seal 010-019-00 is also known as 10-19. The inner race for that axle is L68111 and the outer race is LM67010. All these bearing numbers are industry standard numbers and are the same for the Timken bearings as well as other brands, including Dexter.

I've RVed for years and never had to replace bearings...just greased them every year.
I think I'd just not worry about bearings for a few years and for sure don't start changing them out at this point.
It probably is more important for you to have extra suspension things in the rig: bolts/nuts, an extra spring, shackle and spring hanger.

I wasn't planning to replace them now. I was planning to purchase spares in case of failure while on the road. Even with regular maintenance, failure is still possible. I just want to be prepared. Thanks.

4400# vs 5200# axle
Based on availability, I switched out my 4400# Dexter axle for a standard 5200# axle. The new 5200# axle, complete with both hub/brake assemblies, was the same price as just one Dexter 4400# hub/brake assembly. And this Dexter 4400# hub/brake assembly had a week+ lead-time. I need an axle and hubs that are commonly available whilst on the road.

Lost a bearing , seal and hub in Alaska just outside Tok this past summer. Was quoted 3 weeks plus for repair parts on the 4400 lb axle on a cougar 26 SAB.. they could get the complete 5200 lb axle and accessories in 24 hours. Had previously lost the same wheel with similar results several years ago in California and it took a week with priority shipping to get the parts. . Was told this year that Dexter had ceased to use the 4400 axle.

Found out our 2016 Keystone Outback with 4400lb axles, that I thought by the stickers were Dexter, must actually be Al-Ko. Brake drums no longer being made by parent company Dexter. Bearings and seal are the same as Dexter drum. Not sure about Lippert axles.
If you have any Al-Ko parts changing axle is only option.

Replace with the best.............Timken and clean the originals as a "back-up" spare set.
I would automatically switch axle hardware (bearings, etc) to Timken even when buying a new rig........ one less worry.

I would go with the Timken. I worked for a mfg where the engineers doing the designing had all of their product lines using Timken. They didn't want anything from China if it was load bearing.

Call Dexter direct. I did and they had everything for my 4400 axles, which are special for Keystone they said.

Well, interesting news. Although the sticker on the axle tube reports the axle as a 4400lb unit, it isn't a 4400lb unit. The bearings, races and seals I purchased for a 4.4k axle don't fit my axle at all.
I called Dexter Parts Online and gave them the numbers off of the inner and outer bearings taken out of my axles and they said it is a 5.2k axle. They said Lippert de-rates them to 4.4k for some reason he wasn't aware.
So, the spare bearings, races and seals I purchased will not work for me. I'll need to look at returning or selling them.
@LHaven - you have the same trailer so I'm guessing you'll have the same issue if you need to purchase replacements/spares for your axles.
For my axles, the inner bearing is number 25580, the outer bearing is LM67048 and the seal is a 10-36 (2.250 ID, 3.376 OD). I haven't been able to find the information on the inner/outer races yet.
While talking to Dexter, they said that Lippert did not purchase Dexter - FYI.
I'm still unclear who makes this axle - Dexter or Lippert. It looks like Dexter makes the axle and sells it to Lippert who integrates it into their trailer frame.
I hope this helps someone else who is confused by what axles they have under their trailer.

Mark is there any way to determine if my axles are the 5.2K type without taking the hubs apart? Call Lippert/Dexter?
