Don't know if this is a mod, an upgrade or just a repair...

But I got really tired of the intermittent blue screen on our TV in the Cougar... so during our last trip I started looking for the cause..

Started at the TV and found every single cable connection was loose.... from the TV to the wall plate... then pulled the wall plate.. yep loose there too...

then to the booster in the bedroom ceiling... pulled the booster.. yep loose there too..

then started pulling cables out of the ceiling... guess what... found a splitter... yep you guessed it all three cable connections were loose...

While I had the booster out I swapped it out for the fancy one with a signal strength meter and that's kind of cool..

Next I pulled the second TV connection plate and yep.... both posts were loose.. So was the one in the basement for the outside TV..

Finally up on the roof.. where I found a connector that was actually tight... but wait I used to install these antennas back in the '80's and there is another connector under the mounting plate.... aw heck..

So I pulled the antenna and guess what... yep this one was only engaged by friction... the threads were not even started..

So......... if you think the reception on your TV isn't what it should be... get to tightening them cable connectors... ALL of them

Sort of reminds me of the dude or dudette on the assembly line who can't seem to get the labels correct on the holding tanks.

Javi, Howdy;

Something I've recommended whenever someone mentions the lack
of picture and non tunability of their tv.
The Stolfitz gang are hard at it in Goshen, In.

Javi's Antenna Connections loose

After reading Javi's post, I'm certain the connector in the ceiling at the antenna is loose - My only problem is I don't want to take the antenna off, for fear of creating a leaking roof.

In the meantime, I'm just going to hook up to the SAT/Cable connections on the side of the RV.
