Non Secure Battery

I have a new 2011 Raptor 30FS Toy Hauler, went camping last month, and because there is nothing holding the battery in place , and because of bad roads battery acid escaped from the secured door from the vents and ate my paint on the left side of the RV, so I have to figure how to secure the battery. Very important.

Buy a battery box, (Tractor Supply, Wally World, 10 or 15 bucks) generally comes with hold down clips and strap. Few minute job to fasten the clips, run the strap through, put battery in box, install cover, fasten strap over top. Done deal.

Done deal..... Except that there is no room in these new Keystone 5er's for battery boxes.

What I did was get a long piece of nylon webbing (like backpack straps, etc.), a "clip" and sewed some velcro on it. Run the strap around the batteies AND trays, through the "clip" and back over itself, where it velcro's to itself. Works great for me, and I've been on some horrendous roads.
