Multiple firsts

Happy to make my first post to report that we have just finished our first camping trip in our first camper. I have been reading this forum for some time and found it very useful in making our first trip an overall success. The only setback was backing into a low hanging object and causing the first damage to our camper (a tear in the rubberized roofing membrane). After some fretting I went back to the forum where I found some helpful information on rv roof repair. Fortunately the hole was just in the membrane and not through the sub-roof. I will get that fixed shortly and we are looking forward to our next trip.

Welcome to the forum from another retired LEO. Glad your trip went good, roof repair should be simple enough.

Welcome to the forum from Southern MD. Glad you had a good trip, minus the roof thing. Glad it can get fixed easily. Where did you camp?

Thanks. We stayed at the Circle "M" campground in Lancaster, PA. We picked a place about two hours from home for our first adventure. This early in the season we were just looking to test ourselves and our equipment. We picked this campground for its proximity and because it had an indoor pool for the kids. They loved the pool and we gained some valuable experience. We got a trial membership to Thousand Trails when we bought our camper so our plan is to visit several of the campgrounds within a few hours of us to see if we can find a favorite. Hopefully by the time we exaust the 30 "free" nights of camping from our membership we have found our preference or are comfortable enough to travel farther.
