Texas Newbies

We tent camped all over the U.S. with our four daughters, and now that they're grown, we decided it was time to move up to something more comfortable! We have had our 2013 Keystone Bullet 248RKS for about six months and we pull it with a 2001 Suburban 1500. We've taken several short trips and have enjoyed it thoroughly so far. We both still work full time but like to take time off throughout the year to travel. We love visiting state and national parks. Thank you to everyone who contributes to the forums--so very helpful to newbies like us.

Greetings James's. We're just about 60 miles or so south and ALSO have a 248RKS which we bought in Feb. Looks like great minds think alike! Our is parked up near Dallas and we enjoy spending weekends there where the weather is a bit cooler and there's actually water in the lakes. Go figure. Welcome to the forum.

We're in your neck of the woods

Hello Beth and Dennis. We're north in the FT Hood area. Lets us know where you find nice camp grounds in the area. We just took our maiden voyage but stayed close to home. Being military we stayed at Belton Lake recreational area. It was hot but fun!

Sorry, I must've missed this post! We really love Texas state parks. Our favorite parks in this area are Palmetto, Blanco, and Inks Lake. Fort Parker is a cute little park, too, but not sure how it would be for trailer/RV camping. We camped there several times in our tent camping days.

We're up around your area quite a bit. Not to camp, though, our oldest daughter works in Copperas Cove and lives in Lampasas so we make day trips up to see her a few times a month!

Let us know if you find any places around here that you like. Always up for a new adventure.
