I am from upstate NY with no RV experience. We purchased a 2011 Sprinter 35 ft RV that is at a permanent location, in a park in Upstate NY. When we took ownership I was unfortunately working and was not shown how anything works, like water heater, AC, etc. So I am going to be looking for advice and information.

As the conversation progresses - are you going to leave it at a permanent site or try to use it traveling? Suggestions could vary considerably based on the type of use you propose.

Try to find an owners manual. You can find quite a bit of valuable information from owners manuals that are not model specific. You should be able to pick up information from your neighbors. It's important to know how and when to drain your holding tanks and how to winterize your RV. You should be able to download several users manuals online. I still remember the first time we went to a state park that had electrical hook ups, but no water or sewer. I tried to fill my water storage tank but the water kept running out. I finally found that I needed to put a plug in the water storage tank and even found one in a drawer.
