Washer and dryer

Our New 380TH just came in we're thinking about having a washer and dryer installed any suggestions on either stackables or the combination unit?

Quick questions; Can you fit 24" or 27" wide stackables? Is there 220VAC available for the dryer? If you can fit 27" wide and have 220V for the dryer you have a winning combination. The 24" are a bit smaller but not bad as stackable units. If only 115 V available the dry time is greatly extended. Personally I would avoid combination units at all costs.

Home Depot on line is a good reference for stackables. look closely for the required voltage, as many are 220V.

Thanks for your feedback.
Unfortunately I'm not sure of the voltage that's available, all I know is the unit was pre-wired and plumbed for a washer and dryer. I haven't received the owners manual so I really don't know what voltage is there. I'm betting it's only 120.

No 220 volt available in most towable, some higher end motorhomes may have it. Definitely get the stackables. Have had both combo & stackable Splendide Ariston brands, the combo does a good job but takes 2+ hours per small load & an iron/ironing board is mandatory as EVERYTHING comes out wrinkled. The stackables do a great job with good sized loads.

Critter, whatever system you choose, make absolutely sure your dryer is vented to the outside. Do NOT fall for that happy-crap 'ventless dryer' story. Moisture is a severe RV problem.

Even the high end motorhomes only have 110VAC. Splendide seems to be the most popular and as stated, go with a separate VENTED dryer.

If the W/D is installed by the dealer before first sale they are required to make pen & ink deduction notes on the cargo labeling. If done after you buy it remember to deduct its total weight from your cargo capacity.

Looking at the location I noted it/they will be located close to the axles. That's probably a good thing as it wont put much on an already heavy hitch weight.

Just a note for future consideration. You may want to soon change those LRF tires. Most owners with a trailer that size opt to go with commercial grade low platform trailer tires. The popular size - because of very close overall diminutions - will be 215/75R17.5. They are LRH with a load capacity of 4805# @ 125 PSI. Goodyear G114 is the most popular and close to the most expensive. Sailun is another popular brand and much less expensive. All the majors make them. Some are speed rated "J" 62 MPH. The ones mentioned above are speed rated "L" 75 MPH.
