Door panel cracked
Apparently our Laredo 245RL couldn't handle the shock of a quick trip from Denver to Lake Havasu, AZ.
Do you suspect it was the temperature change that cracked our entrance door interior panel?
I kind of doubt it, because our normal weather can include temperature swings this big any day.

That crack is on the inside of your door. Usually it's the outside that cracks because of the exposure to UV and the elements. I wonder if you had/have a water leak around the window gasket, some water got inside the door assembly and when it froze it expanded and cracked the "weakest link" which in your case was the inner door panel,,, If you do decide to repair it rather than replace it, I'd take out the window and reseal the black rubber gasket really well on reinstallation.

Never thought of freezing moisture... Oddly tho, it wasn't cracked when we packed up to leave Denver, but discovered it the first night in Arizona.

Do you have a recliner that sits in the space near the door while traveling? It could have rocked into the door.

Good thought but nope. They're strapped down away from the door. Screen also covers the inside of the door.
I'll look more closely when we get home. Will check with our dealer to see about replacement panels. I assume it can be covered with some kind of tape if not easily replaced.

I just noticed something similar on my entry door. In several spots around where the window is mounted the are 3-4 inch horizontal cracks. These were not there when I stored the trailer in covered storage. We have had some very cold, for Alabama, temps this winter with some significant swings in temp.

I haven't done anything further with the door, but last time I looked at it, I strongly suspect the door "got away" from someone in a strong wind and slammed open, or maybe flexed enough to crack the inner panel. If you look carefully on the outside, there is a bow or flaw in the outer panel about the same height as the inside panel crack.

Any pictures of the outside of the door?

The AF I had I changed out the glass in the window. It appears to be the same door as on my Keystone. When I took it apart there was a outer and inner window molding screwed together thru the opening. No gaskets, no sealant. When I put the glass back in I put a small bead of silicone across the top and sides of door under the molding. Before when I washed the door, water would get into the window thru the molding . After no longer.

I'll get one in a few days. Big snow coming today, the weather guessers are saying.
Edit - changed my mind and beat the storm (since I was outside smoking ribs for dinner anyway - here's a picture or two) hopefully it shows the crease. Looking here it appears that the pics don't show the crease. It's at the level of the dealer's tag in #2. #3 shows against a straight edge.
The more I think about this, it had to be wind damage. Holding the door at the handle and the wind gusts hit the door enough to bend it. Did I mention it gets a little windy in Colorado and Wyoming?

Ok, from a couple of days ago until today, I now have more cracks. Not wind caused, as I opened the door for pics on 12/25 (calm) and then again today (calm) and have not opened it between. Not happy!!!

I guess that makes sense. I wonder if that interior panel is available somewhere? Internal foam core replaceable? Or needs to be replaced? Guess this project will have to wait for warmer weather.

Best bet and the easiest will be to replace the whole door.

Is the bottom of the door swollen on the outside like mine?
I have the exact issue.

Nope - doesn't have any apparent bulging anywhere on the door - not at bottom or near any of the cracks.

This post is 3 years old. You may want to start a new one.

Hi - OP here. I haven't addressed repairing this yet ... I guess it only bothers me when I see it and apparently I don't see it enough to motivate me (or rise high enough on the 100 projects to finish list to fix it. I read elsewhere that you can buy this material at Home Depot or other hardware stores in the bath products section. Maybe I'll get to it this summer.
