RLS315 Height

Does anyone know the height of a RLS 315 with forward AC. I have been using 12.5 from brochure but I think that I recall that I read 13.6 with 2nd AC.

I would not rely on any "published" literature or even some else's measurements. The height can vary depending upon hitch and brand of a/c unit.

mine measured 13.4 with my old truck …but haven’t measured with the new truck.
I wouldn’t feel comfortable going under anything less than 13.6 unless i had no other choice.

Your trailer might have more sag on the suspension or less…if you have a different model or size ac unit on the front it may be different and if you replace your trailer factory tires with a taller tire it could be different.

Different manufacturer trucks could change the height also ..or again if you have aftermarket tires or a lift kit on your truck

best to hook up and measure …i have a 6 ft level i use

I have measured mine after replacing the forward AC but I cant remember where I logged it nor what the measurement was. I suffer Presidential Syndrome. RV Trip wizard has the clearance (Near Iowa State Fair Grounds, Des Monies) as 13-10 , sign says 13-6 and IDOT website has 13-11(13-6)....I am thinking that DOT is saying actual is 13-11 but posted 13-6. I sorta recall that my measurement was 13-4, I am going to add 15 miles and avoid. Thanks to all

There is a national maximum height limit of 13’ 6” for RV trailers, but like many things, that can change after it leaves the factory like Jasin noted; truck height, tire sizes, replacement parts that increase height, etc.

You should know your specs firsthand and the best way to do that is hook up the trailer, park on level ground, get up on the roof with a level and measure from the highest point of the AC to the ground.

Do not rely on published data. This often does not include one or either A/C or vent covers. Hook your trailer to your truck on level road and measure the high point. This way you know EXACTLY how tall your unit is.

Yes, thanks to all of the solid advice. I should have stated that I was asking is it bigger than a bread box (12.5) or box car (13.5), I had found notes of both....thanks to Jason , I recalled it was a box car.....I would question my own measurement (+-2 inches) , tire pressure, load distribution , cargo weight etc....and if the engineer in me thought that I could (or any one else) get within +-2 inches it would not have mattered as the bridge clearance is published 13-11 to 13-6, it had an unacceptable standard deviation....the range was 5 inches.....having my own "perfect" measurement would not have allowed me to the risk if I am a box car (over 13 foot) ....I would have taken the risk, if I were the bread box...

Thanks Jasin1

If you weigh as much as I do when weighing from the highest point, add 3" when you get off the trailer.
