If I knew what type of slide it was, I could. Is it cable, electric, hydraulic....

At the top in the middle is the electric motor. You should have received a squaredrive bit on a flexible shaft. You put the bit in the hole at the motor and use a drill to spin the gears, moving the slide. You might have to remove the top facia to see the motor. I’ll post a pic of the tool when I get back into the shop.

Thanks Chuck,. When I removed the wood trim to expose the motor, it is covered by another piece of plywood.
It looks like I would have to cut out the plywood to expose the motor.
4 calls to Keystone, I don't believe anyone there knows how to make this work. I found the flex tool, just cannot access motor thanks for the help. John

Been a long time but I think the drive gets inserted at the gearbox end. If you justvremoved the trim, the facia piece is screwed into the slide frame. Don’t cut it, it acts as the “stop” when you extend the slide. Take the whole piece off

Works fine. What if it breaks down while traveling? It should be easy, but no instructions come with the camper.

Got it. Sounded like you were in dire straights, not practising contingency plans.

On our trailer, if I close one of the slides and then stand on a step stool, I can see all of the adjusters and motor. The flexible square drive tool is secured onto the motor housing with strapping tape. Also visible is a sticker glued to the wall that explains how to adjust the cables.

Nothing was said to me when I did my walk-through, and I wasn't smart enough to think of the question at the time. Of course, once it dawned on me that it could be an issue I asked the question here on the forum and got the answer. When we took our tour of the manufacturing facilities last May I also asked the question, just to see what the response would be, and got the answer. But when I asked how to remove the fascia to access the motor I got the deer in the headlights look.

If I were to guess I'd bet $$ that 99.9% of the folks that perform the walk through couldn't of answered the question anyway.

Sad but your probably more right than wrong. Tech that does the PDI does the walk here.

We have a 2013 248RKS and unless the manufacturer has changed slide mechanisms, it has a Schwintek In Wall Slide System. Watch this video on You Tube to manually override the system.

I guess it would be too simple to just have a plug to remove from the fascia and insert the drive through the hole to the motor...

The over ride tool is inserted parallel to the trailer side wall not perpendicular so a hole in the facia wouldn’t make much sense. The motor/gearbox is mounted to the trailer sidewall not the slide, so if you were able to have a hole in the facia, as the slide retracted, the tool wouldn’t reach anymore.
