I think what you're looking for is called "J" molding. It's the bottom of the trailer and usually painted a darker color than the fiberglass walls. You might want to try going to several dealerships. Usually J molding comes in 16 or 20 foot lengths and must be bought by the piece, not by the foot. So, if you needed 7' (as you do) you'd have to buy the entire section. That means either 9' or 13' left over. Any dealership or RV repair center that does body work will probably have "left-overs" on the shelf or taking up space in a back room.

I'd check around and see if one of the "Keystone competition" might have some extra.

The cost is in the shipping. One member, last year, ordered a piece from Trekwood, they paid nearly 3 times the cost of the metal in shipping fees.

It would be much cheaper to buy locally and avoid shipping. Even if you have to pay to have it painted the correct color, that would be less expensive than what your dealer is quoting for a "new piece".

John: for future reference it's called J wrap. We have ordered it in several different lengths, so you may be able to get a short piece.

That's good to know, thanks for the info. The last member that posted had to buy a 16' length from Trekwood. If I remember, he paid about $80 for the metal and almost $250 for shipping. Then he had to paint it as it came primed, ready to paint. I might have that "mixed up a bit" Maybe if he is still active on the forum, he can offer his experiences.

Anyway, my main point was that the OP might want to check around with all the RV places in his area. He may "luck out" and find what he needs sitting in a "scrap pile" and not need to spend the $300 his dealer quoted......

Sorry for the bad pics but I think you get the idea of pieces in question . its the trim pieces on the slide that go around the border of slide that have a 90 degree piece of metal on backside that gets screwed to the border of the slide. The piece alone is about $300 no shipping included. My dealer were TH came from when I bought new is 4 hours away so I would just go get it.no way it would survive ups or Fedex shipping...Lola

Too bad that you don't live closer. I use those all the time on the tiny trailers that I build and I pay a buck a ft for them plus there's no shipping.
As with anything if you look around you'll always find the same product at a way cheaper price.

Thanks for the picture. What you're looking for is the black molding shown in your pictures ???? If so, then what I was thinking you needed is not what is in the picture. You're looking for Slide Flange Molding. It's about 5.25" wide and goes around the outside edges of the slide, has a 5"x5" square cap at each corner and screws to the sidewall/end wall of the slide.

You can order it from any RV dealer and comes in 8' lengths. One place you can buy it is from Trekwood. http://www.trekwood.com/products/612...out-w-Retainer

Price appears to be about $73. Shipping would be extra, however you "should" be able to find a dealership that can order it for much MUCH less than the $300 your dealer quoted. Heck for that price, they should deliver it, install it and provide the beer for you to "supervise their work"......

I'm in BC so it's a bit of a drive. One of the places that I get supplies from is a vinyl upholstery place which does cars, motor homes etc and they just order items from their catalogs. Most of what I want they have in stock which is a bonus. I would suggest checking out places like that and it really helps if you bring a sample.

When you get ready to cut the flange, cover it with blue painters tape so the finish doesn't get scuffed. If you remove the corner pieces, you'll see that you don't have to be perfect.
Also pay attention to which edge has the butyl tape. Might want to get a roll.

Glad it came together for you and saved you some money over the dealership prices. You do know, now that you have a spare, you'll never EVER need it LOL
