What Kind of Battery for Remote Control.

My 2012 Cougar has remote control for slideouts. I can't find the battery kind or number on or in remote. It was without battery when I bought it. Can anyone help me out. Thank you.

There were at least three different remote systems installed in the 2012 Cougar line. Posting a picture of your remote or posting any numbers from the back of the remote may help members identify what you need.

Pictures of Remote Control

The battery length looks right at 1" long. I can't find any numbers on remote. It has velcro patch on back. Maybe that hides any numbers. There should be two pictures here.

A pic of the remote would help. I have a remote from my 2016 Cougar-- had 2 and forgot one when it was sold.

My 2014 Cougar remote looks very similar to yours. Mine uses a CR2 3V lithium battery. Our local WalMart has them on their battery rack near the front registers. Here's the WalMart link: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Energizer...&wl13=&veh=sem

Thank you very much. I'll measure it's length at the Walmart. Sure hope it works.

We have a different remote, which we don't use, but the battery looks like 1/2 of a AAA battery, but is a 12 volt A23 battery.

Found this on Lippert's site:

Looks like yours does indeed need a "CR2 3V lithium battery".
