OK
35 ft. "total length" is the variable here. Your fifth wheel is actually shorter, and lighter than a 35 ft. (purchased length) model of the same trailer. Got it.
I will add that when I did tow my 5er with the gasser I had one significant grade to traverse on a trip I took. Uphill the TV did work hard but managed, down hill I was impressed with the engine/trans braking. I didn't need to use the brakes as much as I expected. Your TV and mine were almost identical.
I had the Lariat and it was a 2x2.
Good luck

There several Keystone "1/2 ton" 5th wheels that are 35' with a GVWR of 11,500#, also Grand Design has several light long 5ers.

Thanks for the info rhagfo.
When someone mentions fifth wheel length on here it usually refers to the manufactured or purchased length, not the overall length. The trailer itat has sounds like it will work with his gasser. The ones you mentioned might be a little heavy but I'm sure there are a few on the road as we speak.

When I quoted the length as just under 35’ that’s what brochure says for a 2019 model - 34’11”. When we did our PDI yesterday, they had a paper on it that said 33’11”. So I just looked at the 2018 and 2019 brochures. The 2018 brochure says 33’11”. I’m not sure whether one is incorrect or if they added a foot to the 2019. The one we bought is a very early 2019 - manufactured in early-April 2018 - so its really a late-2018. The interior colour is from the 2018 brochure. Anyway, that length includes an extended frame for a factory-installed swing-down platform. The frame extension is about 15-16”. So, assuming its 33’11”, the box length is likely around 32’8”.

itat,
Please re-read the first paragraph of post #21.
When I wrote "Got it" (the first time) that meant I understood what you were saying.
When you read it again understand what I am saying.
You are looking at a 29 ft. fifth wheel. At least that is what I have seen it presented as on this forum.
I don't believe there is going to be a change to start identifying our trailers and fifth wheels by overall length.

I understand that you got it (in post #21). My follow-up had nothing to do with that though. I realized after my post (#20) that I may have been stating something that’s not correct at least according to the published numbers, so I just wanted to correct myself. But your point is well taken that published lengths are not necessarily the actual length pin to bumper or box length.
