Wink regulator for dual propane tanks

Is there a way to determine if the regulator to my dual propane tanks is working properly. I have a 2016 380fl keystone avalanche. I can smell propane really bad in kitchen area and front end (where stored) a day before the propane runs out. Ive read in earlier posts that not only is there a valve inside propane tank but also in green connector (pigtails). How long of hose is too long that you'd have to purchase a seperate regulator for 100lb tank. Please and thank you for all you answers.

On the fifth wheels we sell that have a tank on each side, like mine, have that regulator on the side that doesn’t have the feed to the trailer. That cross over is less than 10 feet, but I’m not convinced that’s what you need unless your cylinders are set up that way and the 100 pound tank is on the “off regulator” side if that makes sense.

If it is connected to a pigtail that’s not directly connected to the regulator, then follow that line as there should be a small round regulator installed. They do fail, not often.
