I made up hinges For a rear rack from Masterblasters design in Modifications and Upgrades. A few changes as mine is 6' wide. I also wired up a 3000 watt inverter for the truck.

Rusted Jacks

So, like everyone else I was looking for something to do. So, I decided to repaint my rusted stabilizer jacks. They were only 3 years old but one of them was horrible with rust (80%), 2 were about 60% covered and one was about 20% covered.

I removed all of them from the trailer, disassembled each and wire wheeled each removing the paint and rust. I repainted with the good Rustoleum spray paint with the primer built in then reassembled and reinstalled on the trailer. Now they look pretty good.

If you've got more spare time than projects, I'd be happy to pull our Cougar out of the pole barn and hook up the hose for you... I'll even stay 6' away while you wash and wax ours (proper social distancing, mind you)….

Heck, Hemlock isn't that far away

Looks good, now just to "overcome this lockdown/everything closed order"....

It was defiantly a lot of work. My son and I spent about 6 hours total doing that and the roof and living the step hinge points. I am happy how it came out. I am glad it is a twice a year thing and only ONE camper. Lol

Well I uncovered my trailer. Put water in it. checked everything and come to find out my toilet valve is cracked because I did not push down on the toilet when I flushed the system out last fall. Come to find out this is a common problem and I will remove this come next winter. I’m new to rvs so this is a $50 mistake that was easy to fix. I went on Amazon it seems to be a common problem. And now I notice my piece of crap kitchen faucet needs to be replaced it’s cracked and leaks. It’s a great day.

Brian,

A couple of hints "for next fall".... when you flush the water lines, turn on each faucet until it flows red, do the same with the toilet. Then, when you're completely finished, turn off the water pump and open every faucet. That will allow any "ice buildup" inside the valves to expand and prevent any damage.

Do you really have checkpoints up there? Last Sat. I delivered the 5er I sold up near Wellston which is about 20 mi east of Manistee. I saw some patrol cars including state and was never bothered nor did I encounter any checkpoints

I haven't travelled more than to WalMart 2 times (for milk and produce) since the "stay in place" order. We do walk around the area on days that are "nicer than winter"... Several people around the area live in Detroit/Flint/Lansing and have cabins in this area. They have come and gone several times without difficulty. As for "checkpoints like crossing national borders" I don't think there's enough State Police to do that and county/city folks aren't interested in what goes on "out on the interstate"...

What I've heard is that the State Police are patrolling, but not stopping anyone that isn't doing something that can't be ignored. I haven't heard any reports of people being stopped, questioned about what/why they're on the road and no reports of anyone being "turned around and ordered to go back home"...

New AC Vents

Been wanting to upgrade the old standard round 'sink drain' pop open vents for a while now. The air output from those are bad. In fact for the last few months we took out the opening disc and left them to just straight dump the air. Cools much better but very single spot.
So we bought a couple of the louvered ones you can angle, close and rotate 360*. Tried one in front bedroom and front bath. Very happy so far!

Gonna buy 4 more for the coach are next week. Let is direct some air towards the hallway, towards the couch and towards the doggie bed.

Got 2 more in the garage to replace as well but gonna wait a few weeks. Think they were like $7-8 a price locally. Family owned RV and Mobile Home supply in Hollywood FL. K&K . Their super nice and stock alot of common stuff for RVers. Orders are quick too.

A few years ago I replaced the cheapo plastic AC outlet covers with these Bell brand metal ones. One of our original ones hinge broke and Christine found these on Amazon. As you can see they did fade but all metal construction, they don't break. They come with precut foam insulation, inside door foam insulation, a few different internal plates for different uses and hardware.

Today I used another one for a new project. We had for our outdoor side patio (FZ420 model Fusion) TV with just the round Coax plug with round plate.
I took a new Bell outlet cover and mounted it over where the old coax plate was. Cut their poorly cut round hole into a rectangle hole using my Dremmel and fiberglass reinforce cut-off wheel.
At Home Depot I bought a configurable wall plate. You can buy different snap-in peices. I chose Coax and HDMI. You can also get others depending on what you are working on. They were like $13 all 3 peices. I had a spare 10ft HDMI cable already and fished it inside to our TV area.
The goal is to have Satellite via HDMI outside.
Before I had to unplug the HDMI to my inside TV and route a HDMI thru the screen door outside. So we can watch football or whatever outside.
Keystone only used a coax splitter behind the main TV to get Air or Park Cable outside. No big deal since this is a 2016 unit but it's 2020 and media even for camping is king. Plus we full-time RV right now.
Now I just need a HDMI splitter inside and a short HDMI cable.....then ready to go!

An unconscionable omission on all too many RVs. Note to manufacturers: in the 21st century, people will use their dinette tabletops for computers, coffeemakers, and all sorts of newfangled gadgets!

Looks like a great job. I would be scared stiff to add wiring to a moving slide. We had to settle for a long extension cord running behind the recliners, and a portable "power tower" for the tabletop.

We did the same thing. Got a nice cloth braided extension run under the couch with outlets and USB. Same beside the bed.....onlu outlets, no USB. Ya think in 2016 this would have already been a thing. But nope

If you bought our model with the heated massage couch, there's an outlet. Our slide has an outlet for the residential fridge...but it's a single gang outlet.

Our model had USB, but only on DW's side, and only low-power. I invested in a few Litesun Charging Essentials units for the home and rig. They offer the high-power charging rate on all USB outlets, for bigger pads and phones. No wiring, just plug them into an existing socket. We've been using ours over two years now, so I can attest to their reliability.

Awesome.
I found some plug-in ones that use the existing 2 outlets and covers them. Gives us 6 sockets and 4 USB each. We are careful not to overload them. I just charge my watch, phone and headset overnight. So they were more than we needed. But Costco had a deal on the 2 pack
