I will start looking for a class V that tucks up under the bumper any suggestions would be appreciated. the curt frame hitch E-trailer lists for my RAM puts it at 7 inches under the bumper even if the factory hitch is removed, I don't care for that as I will lose ground clearance. I have an older Ram 1500 hemi beater truck, the hitch receiver is damaged from a rear end collision. Ive had a hard time finding a hitch to replace it in aftermarket.
The oem version is what you want to get either from a junkyard or ebay because it’s almost like it’s part of the frame and strength for the rear end on Ram pickups….they almost all come with a reciever hitch factory installed.
I had a 2012 Ram crew cab laramie 4x4 with the class four hitch..my son has a 2013 Ram big horn with the class 5
i would get under your truck now and start spraying PB Blaster or an equivalent on the bolts under there now and every few days because the ones on my 1500 are almost permanently seized and i just don’t have the time or patience to deal with them right now because i have other vehicles i can use to move trailers around.
I was going to order a oem from ebay because i tried an aftermarket but it didn’t fit correctly.
