Unhappy lemon in carolina

Hello all, My husband and I purchased a new keystone fifth wheel in June of this year and lets just say that were not happy campers. Im retired and hes going to be shortly and we will never buy a keystone or recommend buying a keystone to anyone thinking about buying one.

I actually find these types of posts amazing. Personally I term these types of posts as "Veni, Vidi, Whiney" - I came, I saw, I whined (sorry, Ceasar). One post, and they are gone!

Now, I joined the Forum because I too had a problem, but I wanted to know if someone else had a similar problem and found a solution. So far, I think I'm the only Alpine with a fresh water fill line kink problem. But if anyone else joins who mentions this - I have a solution!

So, for the majority of us, and those who continue to stay and contribute, I would say we are: "Veni, Vidi, Fixi" - I came, I saw, I fixed!

However, as most of us own our RVs, we change. We then start to become "Veni, Vidi, Modi" - I came, I saw, I modified. Now, that's the stage I am in right now.

So, that's it, that's all the Latin language lesson for the day. No wonder it's a forgotten language - if I'm paraphrasing it!

Everyone have a great weekend!

Ron

I guess she’s too late in telling us to not buy a Keystone. I just survived another enjoyable outing in mine. One more outing this year. Poor me and my family – forced into a relaxing week at the beach (eat that, northerners).

Perhaps the reason she joined was to spread some Christmas Cheer around during this holiday. You know, "Tis the season to be jolly. Fa,la, la, etc." Excuse me, I have to get back to one of my favourite books.........."The Grinch Who Stole Christmas". Relaxing in my easy chair with a cuppa tea and, of course, a slice of lemon. Mmmm, do they grow lemons in North Carolina?

No, Festus2, lemons come from Goshen, Indiana.

There are certain people that complain about every & anything. Most of us realize that a few problems in our RV is to be expected. I've talked with many campers over the years & not one of them has told me there RV is perfect.

The claim that their trailer was a "lemon" without providing any history or specifics is pretty much useless.

None of us who have owned RV's for any length of time expect a unit to be perfect and trouble free. We all anticipate some kind of issues here and there along the way.

Most states now have lemon laws with specific criteria so unless the OP is willing to tell us the details of how they determined their unit was a lemon and how they dealt with it, I am inclined to think "sour grapes" from an inexperienced and uninformed source.

Hmmmmmm?? Is the Keystone warranty transferable. If it is that might be a good buy with 6 months warranty still left. I'm guessing they didn't give them enough of a chance to fix what was wrong.

No complaints on our 2011 cougar 26SAB. This forum is a great source of knowledge and advice. My wife is retiring next week, looking forward to getting out on the road...

After 2 camping seasons with my 210rs with trips extending from PA to TN to FL, I could not be happier. Why come on a forum full of people who have already purchased a product and tell them not to?

It would be my guess that we will not be hearing from the original poster, kathytc, since she most likely came on here to issue her warning and to express her dissatisfaction with Keystone products. I somewhow doubt that all of these replies and support for Keystone will do anything to change her/his opinion if, in fact, they are even being read by anyone except those who already own and enjoy their Keystone RV.
My recommendation would be to forget about her post and keep this section of the forum for what it was intended --- to allow new members to "check in" and for us to welcome them.

Problems

I have observed before that 1) No RV you buy is going to be perfect --- even a $300k class A. 2) If you are not willing and capable of fixing problems yourself, don't buy one.

Just my $0.02 worth.

Happy holidays to all,

John

Heading out again on 1Feb.

Unhappy

I'm completely missing something here..... First there was bizarre fly-by that started the post about being unhappy, never again.... ya-da ya-da.... then something about a Jayco..... ???

Her profile lists her RV as a 2011 (Jayco) Eagle.
