Newbie toy hauler owner

Newbie to owning, operating, and pulling a 5th wheel. We recently purchased a used 2016 Raptor 352TS. We tow our coach with a 2016 GMC 2500HD. Still learning the coach features: InComannd by Jensen, batteries and converter or charging while plugged to shore power. So much to take in!!!

Thank you. So much to learn about and things to buy to outfit. We are looking forward to our first outing. Having a battery charging issue though. Should I start a new post and ask if anyone else is having an issue. First time in a forum as well.

Welcome from Virginia. New toyhaulers are fun. You should tart a new post in the appropriate section of the forum for your charging question.

Welcome to the forum, and as stated....lots and lots of knowledge and years of towing on here. I'm a noobie myself...less than a year owning a camping type trailer. One of the things I'm going to suggest is that you do some research on your trailer and truck for capacities. You have a pretty large 5er and in the scheme of things, a pretty small truck for a trailer that big. The dry (unloaded) weight of your trailer shows a bit over 14,000 lbs and Cargo weight of almost 3000 lbs. Your truck is simply not rated for that kind of weight. The trailer empty....pin weight is 3250 lb and that right there might be over your Cargo Carrying Capacity (CCC) of a 3/4T truck. Just sayin', you might want to look into it.

Congrats on your new Raptor!!

to the Toyhauler Family however it is my option that your 2500 TV is way under sized for that Raptor. I suggest you either down size your rig or upsize your TV, I would sugguest a 3500 dually

For you own sake check the numbers, payload of your 2500 inside driver door, you will quickly see you are not even close. Raptors are pin heavy in general and you have a big guy there

Be Safe and Happy Camping

I am out at a campsite, I am alloted a small handful of WiFi a day if wind blowing toward me

These salesman will sell anything rigs or TV, its ashame that the customers do not have enough information at the time of sale. I guess we can only help those who do research.

I agree. Newbie, I have same Raptor and my pin is near 3k at times and even maxes out my GVW on the TV....but not exceed max axle limit.

Sorry to inform you that you can not pick numbers on your TV that you do not exceed!! It's basically payload and GVWR, period. Look inside your TV driver door.

Have to ask what is your TV????

Am I mistaken, or is that a Dodge spec sheet for a SRW? I believe you should pull up the one for your dually. You'll feel a lot better.
