We could have gotten a smaller FW but didn't want to give up a lot of the features the Alpine has and the and that the new TT also has. Was able to transfer our deposit to it so no money lost, just a little pride that I didn't do all my homework the first time.

Congrats on your decision. I know you are disappointed.

We have our TT and love it. It's about as nice as most 5vrs but doesn't have some of the amenities due to size (ours is about 38'). My wife wouldn't have a fifth wheel so..... The feeling of "roominess" is what we both like but that comes at a cost; increased weight which can/is a problem in many cases, increased cost. The weight of a nice 5vr, which you were looking at, immediately puts you the position of having to have a "real", heavy duty tow vehicle. For some that's great, for some not so much so.

Congratulations on your new rig. I'm sure you will be happy. I'm glad the deposit situation worked out OK. Wishing you luck and lots of fun. Having pulled an RV being overweight (220 lbs on payload) and worrying every mile, I can assure you that you did the right thing trying to take care of yourself and your loved ones.
