A/C fan doesn’t turn off when compressor isn’t running.

We have a wall thermostat. The settings are Fan, Furnace, A/C. With the A/C setting activated, the fan continues to run even when the compressor stops running. Is this the way it is supposed to work. Our unit is brand new but we didn’t receive a manual for the a/c. Thanks ahead for any ideas.

Fan continuing to run when a/c turns off

Just as I hit post it came to me what I needed to check. I went out and turned the unit off and then turned it on to Fan. I depressed the fan button several times and lo and behold there was a setting for auto. Duh!!

You need to set the fan to AUTO. Use the mode button to get to fan. Then use the up or down arrow to change the fan to auto.

Gotcha. BTW if the fan is set to Hi or Lo and your plugged into shore power, the AC fan will run in heat mode.
