Keystone TT line-up
When others post this I wonder why they just can't do their own research. Well, here I am doing it. The darling wife is having 5th wheel issues. Mostly going up and down the stairs. So there is a frequent "while you are up there could you..." I've been looking at the Keystone TT line-up trying to figure which is the supposedly highest quality. Laredo, wide body Sprinter, etc?? I don't need or want a X-Lite. I can't make heads or tails of it.
I even thought about a Bigfoot based on my cab over quality, but $58,000 for a 23ft travel trailer is a bit over the top.

When we bought ours it was the Cougar Hi Country. That was in 2014 and it was discontinued that year - said it cost too much and was infringing into 5th wheel territory. Since then I've asked at dealerships and I don't think there is a clear consensus any longer among the Keystone brands. On the surface the Laredo has appeared to be possibly a little above the others but not "head and shoulders".
I've looked at the top of the Jayco line (Eagle if I recall) and it's not as nice as a Laredo IMO. I don't like any of the Forest River or Palomino products...in fact, I just don't like the other brands as well as Keystone. I had about decided to look into a Grand Design Reflection (they make a bumper pull) but the nearest dealer is hours away - so it's out.
You've owned RVs so you know what to look for in quality and what you want in a trailer. I suspect the best way to find "the one" is to put feet inside and "hands on" the trailer. Good luck. And, what you're describing is one of the reasons my wife has said no to a 5th wheel.

^^^Same here about Keystone. I need to look at Grand Design again. We almost bought their 5th when we got the Montana.

gearhead We seriously looked at Outdoors RV products. But found they were too heavy to tow with the measly 1/2 ton we have. But quality wise seem to be very well built. Problem is I don't believe they have dealers on the east coast. At least a few years ago this was the case. Talking about warranty claims.

I almost traded mine in on a Reflection last week. We are a Grand Designs dealer, and I can get employee pricing

Yes Outdoors RV is supposed to be heavy duty and built for boon docking and a bit of back roads.
I have wondered how they and others (Arctic Fox) do warranty work. I talked to folks in a DynaMax Super C one time they said they just told the factory where they were and were referred to a local shop. I could live with that.

Gearhead: I now you mentioned you didn't want a X-Lite but look at the Cougar X-Lite 30RLI TT. The 30RLI has the same floorplan as 5th wheel but not steps. The 36' length has not been a problem for the F250. Best of luck.

The Outback 330RL is about perfect but 37' 10". It's about the same length as our 5th but wont be as maneuverable. Has great tank capacities.
The Cougar X Lite sure is pretty. I keep going back to them. The 30RLI is a great plan. But I would like to avoid the fridge in a slide if I can.

Gearhead: That is a nice floorplan with the theater seating looking directly at the TV, etc. Specs look nice but can't tell if the slides are cable or gears - the 30RLI has cables and I hate them only because to adjust the cable you have to have two strong people unscrew the 10' fascia to access the cables for adjustment.

I'm a good 6 months from pulling the trigger on anything.
The 333MLS with the outdoor kitchen is cool too.
Cables, I think.
