Pellet Grill

Hi , I have been thinking about mounting a wood pellet grill on the swing out grill mount on my RV. Has anybody done this, and if so, has the electronics held up with all the bouncing and vibration from traveling.

Pellet Grill

One of our techs has a grill (Davy Crockett I think) and he packs it in the compartment. A number of years ago I took my large Louisiana grill on a cargo rack hanging off my 36' Jayco. Both grills are still operational but mine stays in the back yard now.

Thank you for the feed back Chuckster57. I like the Davey Crockett grill because it will run off 12 and 110 volt power. I have a friend that sales Traeger grills and I have one of them in the backyard, it works great.

Love my Traeger but I wish it was easier to bring with while camping. Thought about picking up a Traeger PTG just for the RV but I'll have to do some more research.

Hi Cynjon, I love my Traeger also. Our Sprinter Campfire Edition 26RB came with a gas grill and swing out mount on the rear bumper, but I real like the pellet smoker/grill so much better. The only reason I am looking at the Davey Crockett grill is it works on 12 volts, so not shore power or generator running . The larger grill will requirer modifications to the swing out mount. But it would be worth the work.

The GMG looks like a good grill as well...a little heavy but nice to have the 12V option. I'll have to do some more research. Thanks!

Or, you co do away completely with the need for power, and use a barrel cooker. Growing up, seemed everybody had one, and that's what I've always used. Burns briquettes.
Granted, I tow our trailer with a E250 Super Duty extended cargo van, so I have plenty of room, but I'd find a place for it in what ever tow vehicle we get in the future.

.

Hi Steve079, That's a cool cooker, I never saw one like it before. Thanks for the feedback.

Steve079 that's just too cool! Where did you buy this from or did you make it? That would be cool to take along on my trips and it's huge too to cook up some whole chickens.
