Truxedo

I had to remove my hard folding on the truck bed for fifth wheel clearance issues. So the new soft roll up tonneau will ad like 2in to the top of the bed rails. Does anyone use this type cover ? Will there be any clearance issues with the Truxedo. TIA

U may or may not like or it may or may not work with your setup because the roll is bigger than standard vinyl covers but I love the revolver x2. Completely locked when closed and adds no height to the side rails at all.

I have a trifold bed cover. It sits above the bed rails by a couple of inches. No problems.
According to what I've learned, you should have about 6" of clearance between the bed rails and the 5th wheel overhang so the 2" question should be no issue.

OK Thanks, my tri fold hard cover was a no go, with two folded over not enough fifth wheel plate clearance, with it folded all the way up right clearance with the front cap was the problem when turning

Check out "PERAGON Hard Cover". Google their site. I like that it is a lockable hard cover that folds into the bed when opened, or can be removed completely and replaced by one person in less than five minutes. Not cheap, but an excellent choice.

Good Luck,

This is my truck. The company that installed it made a video of it.

Here's the company page with the install article but I don't see the video here. I'll continue to look for it. I thought I had it saved to my phone but I may have switched phones since the install.

Amazing! Eight replies and not one addresses your question. I have the TruXedo Duece Tonneau Cover. The front part flips open in addition to being a roll up. The rails are less than 1" above the truck rail. The inside edge of the TruXedo Duece rails do extend about 1 1/4" horizontally into the bed. This may affect how sharp you can turn depending on yur pin box.

TruXedo also make a low profile tonneau in their Lo Pro Series.

I had a 3 fold hard tunnel cover on my truck. Purchased a 5th wheel and the only way I could use it with the cover was to fold it up and raise it. Doing that I could not see out the back window. So I sold it and purchased a hard cover that rolls up into a tube. This solved the problem. Have a great lockable hard cover. When folded up no issues with the 5th wheel hitch or camper

Sorry, I misunderstood the original post. I thought the OP was looking for something that worked better than the roll ups or fold ups that flap around when you're towing.

I have a Truxedo Truxsport cover. It only sits about an inch above the bed rails so it shouldn’t be an issue. I used to have a rigid tri-fold cover that made a ton of noise going down the road. The soft cover has cross-bars built in and doesn’t flap or make any noise when fully covering the bed and is out of the way when rolled up. So far it has been pretty tough with no issues, even after a heavy snow winter parked outside.

It's amazing that many forums I belong to have many posts that don't address the question directly asked by the OP because they don't have the exact product the OP asks for..they just try to help...

I have the Truxedo roll-up bed cover on my F-250. Adds about 1 in. to my bed height which is not a problem. Your truck and brand of hitch might be different.
My hitch is a Patriot slider 18K.

Same thing I had on my dually for 10 years with the 5er and never an issue with clearance. My complaint was that in cold weather, it was hard to roll up.

I purchased one of these because they are inexpensive and wasn’t sure i’d end up keeping it….it’s actually pretty good quality and has held up nicely for 2.5 years…stays nice and tight, all the velcro still works perfectly and the latch works flawlessly…have had a bunch of snow on it and no problems ….rolls up and out of the way and if i need to replace in a couple more years it won’t matter to me as i only paid a few hundred

I have a roll up cover made by AgriCovers, it’s the Access Original model. Using our 5th wheel we have not had any issues with it being hit by the 5th hitch on the camper. The Access cover uses similar rail design that the tuxedo does so I would think that you would not have issues.
