Hail Damage to solar panels??

We had a hail storm. Near $30,000 damage to our house, waiting on estimate on truck. Our half ton Cougar seems unfazed. See no dents or broken windows Got on top to inspect, all appears fine but one solar panel had some off patterns the other looks fine and clear no patterns. No idea if this is just the nature of the panel or if it is damaged. Thoughts appreciated.

I'd check the readings (volts, amos etc.) from the controller and compare with your readings prior to the damage. Trailer damage while parked in your yard might be covered by homeowners insurance.

That could be impact damage from hail. The top layer is likely intact (it has some flex), but the silicon photovoltaic panel underneath appears affected. It would be worth having it looked at.

It wouldn’t be covered under your homeowner’s insurance, but your RV comprehensive coverage would cover it. If you insure everything (home, auto, RV) with the same company, the good insurers only apply one deductible for all claims stemming from the same event.
