Burners swapped out for a Blackstone anyone?
We just bought a '23 Premier 25RKPR and the layout is perfect for me, my husband and our dog. We love that there is a mini outdoor kitchen. However, it has burners instead of a grill. I know for certain we will not use the burners out there since we don't even use the stove inside. There must be a somewhat easy way to swap out the burner/stove for a 17' Blackstone or something similar that we'll actually use. We have been lugging a small Coleman grill and we are hoping to not need it anymore.
Anyone know how to make a swap like this?
Thanks!

I’m all for stir-fry or breakfast on that piece of steel, but the steer those steaks came from would be sorry, sorry that they weren’t deemed worthy of charcoal. Maybe a pork chop or two, but never, never a steak!

I like your video and the idea of the Blackstone but I have a question. Where does the grease go?

Can you boil a pot of water on a Blackstone? For example, to boil pasta's?

I use my Suburban 2 burner stove in the outdoor kitchen a lot. But I also use a quick-connect "Y" so I can tap in to the RV propane QC fitting for my 22" Blackstone griddle and/or NexGrill which are on a fold-up table 6-8' away from the side of the trailer.
Several Keystone models come with a Capital Griddle in the outdoor kitchen. These have the grease drain at the front and a small grease catch drawer on the front you can pull out and drain instead of the Blackstone which drains out the back.
Although we know you can add a Blackstone to the RV outdoor kitchen, it isn't exactly ideal (and is a fire hazard). Personally all that grease, smoke, moisture, splatter, etc. in that area and under the awning is not my thing.
YMMV

I am huge steak aficionado, and I will say that steak on a blackstone is very delicious. Not better, nor worse than any other way of cooking it if done correctly.

Yes, pots and other vessels can be used on there as well. I have a little cast iron pot that we use often when heating up some meat hot sauce for burgers or hot dogs.

Thanks! Will it get hot enough, that if you put a non-electric coffee pot on it, the old style percolators, the coffee maker will actually percolate?
I suppose if you really need to use the old style over-the-fire percolator, it could be done on the gas stove inside the camper?????

It should work for percolators too...boiling point of the water doesn't change, and they get up higher than that (400-500° F range). I have a small 2 burner coleman stove that I typically use for that stuff when needed...sometimes need both while cooking larger meals.

The issue with using a flat top to heat a pot or other vessel designed for a burner is the wasted energy. Not only is it inefficiant but the hot surface radiating upwards surrounding the pot/pan could overheat the handles.
There's no reason you can't use the indoor stove while using the stove, grill, flat top, smoker, or whatever that's connected to the outside gas supply.

Just throwing it out but you can also plug an induction cooker into the outside outlet right near where you are cooking and use a coffee pot etc. I carry 2 of them as I don't like cooking on the gas stove. Very versatile, no heat and gets you out of the RV.

We started with the stock Capital Grill (gave it away), then changed it to a two burner stove top. Then changed to a 17” Blackstone. Did some cutout mods to the wood and installed sliding rails.
17” Blackstone has the rear grease cup.
I put leveling feet on bottom of grill to get just the right level and slope so grease runs to cup.

I don’t have the same model as you. But I removed the capita; grill that came with mine and replaced it with a 22 inch blackstone

Takes a little modification to fit it, but not much work.

That looks great. I was able with a little mod to fit a 22 blackstone in mine. Like what you did to the cabinets n decor.

If you're considering a simple "pull the cooktop and replace it with a Blackstone grill" keep in mind that about 3 or 4 years ago, Keystone had a recall based on them doing pretty much the same thing... Turns out there was an issue with the countertop/drawer assembly that the cooktop was mounted in was not fire retardant and there were several fires caused by the "hotter temperatures around the Blackstone than were experienced around the cooktop....
The VERY LAST thing you want is to be dry camping, miles from the nearest fire department and in an area with limited cell phone service and wake up "smelling smoke" to realize that the outdoor kitchen is smoldering......
Think through your modifications to be sure you reduce the risk of fire, not increase the risk to your family.....

I pulled out my burners and replaced with an induction unit. Works great if you have 110VAC. When dry camping, I use a portable butane burner which has much better flame control and more BTU than the stock propane unit.
I also have a griddle, and gas grill, but use those on a table away from the camper because of the fire/splatter/smoke problems mentioned.
