My little buddy

Well after 14 yrs with my “homie” my beloved flame point Siamese cat “max” passed away silently. He wasn’t doing well the last couple weeks, he had some serious health issues that the vet couldn’t say $4,000.00 of surgery would fix.

He went camping with us and loved parking on my lap when I was home. Sad but happy he’s joining the others on the other side of the rainbow bridge.

Yes they do. It’s said you don’t own a cat, they own you!

2010 his first camping trip, he actually tolerated the leash:

Chuck I am sorry for your loss. As one that always had dogs (never cats) and they were always outdoors but good friends I never had the wonder of a pet living right beside me and becoming 100% attuned to me until this puppy. She has cancer now. Had multiple surgeries and interventions and about 2 weeks ago the vet said there would be no more and the cancer is growing.

My other dogs have passed away, one of them right beside us on the porch after coming for lovies. In this case I'm not sure what I'll do because the vet pretty much said I have to make the call...that will be gut wrenching to the extreme.

I feel for you and I'm very sorry for your loss. Keep max in your mind and heart as I'm sure you will.

Sorry for your loss. Pets become like our children when they go traveling with you and all of the kids have left the nest.

So sorry to hear of your little buddy passing, Chuck.

Those 4-legged critters, whether they be dogs, cats, horses, etc., become members of the family, and they take a piece of your heart when they leave us. We've lost a few and we know.

Take care.

My condolences. We currently have 3 cats, have lost 2 in the last few years and one is getting old and is on meds.

It is so sad when they leave us, they are blessings.

Sorry to hear about your loss Chuck. That's the gift of love and it comes with the knowledge that one day you will feel the pain of their absence. IMO there are animal owners and people that have a companion of a different species.

The "owners" typically have a pet because they look cute, because the kids wanted it, or some other self-serving purpose without bonding with the animal. They feel little or no empathy with the animals passing. The second group form a bond with the animal that the "owners" don't understand. I feel for the "owners" as they donknow what their missing. Thank you everybody, it means alot to me and DW. He was about a year old when we adopted him from a rescue and was considered non adoptable. I have a ton of memories and pictures of him and his antics.

Just saw your post. Our last 2 cats made it to 19 and 17 before we had to make the same call for them, which was very tough. As of today, my Chihuahua is 16 and my English Pointer is 12. Both are at the end of their life expectancy but in overall great health. When that day comes, it's gonna be tough. Very tough. All we can do today is enjoy the time we still have with them.

I'm sorry for your loss but glad you had about a dozen good years to enjoy life with him.

Sorry to hear this Chuck. It's been 2 years since I lost my "lake" dog. We have flags made with there picture on it so they're always "around" It'll get easier eventually. We keep a flag of Taxi flying on the boat right by her favorite spot.

It's never easy to lose a pet. For many of us, they are a large part of our family and help make a house into a home. They "just belong with us". When we lose them, it makes a void in our lives, our home and our heart.

Enjoy the fact that you made his life better while he made yours better as well.

Sorry for your loss.
