I occasionally regretted not staying in northern California after attending Navy Electronic Tech school at Treasure Island.
But it's been a long time since those thoughts and am now glad I didn't do it.
Idaho sounds great.

The problem is that the exodus effect is affecting NV, and sooner or later ID, just as it has OR, WA and Austin, TX. Reminds me of the folks who leave another third world country to come to America, then don’t want to adopt the values that made America what it is. They desire to somehow change their new state or country to the ways of the disaster they left.

I’m happy for MSU.

NV. Cows, not condos.

Post #22 is So true. When you have people moving to another area and then wanting to make it just like there other place mainly in political beliefs.
I want change because I like there way as it is now and will not want change.

This has been true for my adult life..... CA comes up with a new law or thoughts about different political ideas. Oregon lawmakers, jump on it saying , CA did it we should too. It even goes into the criminal world. The drug trade, gangs are prefect examples and I have more. They all started in CA. Oregon police would learn of the new trends and get trained by CA cops in some cases. In a year or 2 we are dealing with the same bad guys or same MOs of crimes here.

Keeping this just a little closer to home, a few years ago we had a fine fella from Michigan who a couple too many times uttered "That's not how we do it in Michigan." No, it's not. It's Florida and things may be done differently. It got so we all kidded him about it so much that two things happened. He quit saying it, and he was so good natured about it that he on occasion would utter "That's how we do it in Florida." and then we'd all have a good laugh.

When I was in the Air Force (a very mobile lifestyle) we had a saying: "No place is as good as where you came from, until you get orders to leave, then no place is as good as where you're going." Very few people were "happy with where they were"....

Human nature drives us to want (cherish) what we had and causes us to hope what we're anticipating is better than what we have. Then, tomorrow, when we have it, it's not as good as what we had, so we try to change it.....

Another saying: "The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence"......
