Flies

Our Keystone Cougar is parked in a long term trailer park. It’s been very hot of late (100+) we have been experiencing flies getting into the trailer. It’s closed up tight. Yet we get 5-10 or more a day. Our sewer line is closed. Our grey water lines are open but we have stoppers on the drains. Any thoughts? Thanks.

JMO, it seems like there are a couple things to eliminate.

Do you have something that has died in the trailer walls or underbelly and is breeding maggots that turn into flies?

Your trailer is cooler than the outside, so that draws flies in. Do you have a screen that is not complete or maybe a hole in the flooring where pipes go through that needs sealing?

Bathroom sink and/or shower drains closed/plugged too?

Good luck.

I lived in an RV last year for 3 months and temps were triple digit. Found it really helped to put food items in the trash in a plastic grocery sack and draw the sack up and tie it.

Flies

My wife uses an auto sprayer with fly spray in it and also perfume smelling stuff also I don’t think any of them seal up 100 0/0 our screens don’t fit tight but the fly sprayer works for us also read somewhere flies don’t like pinesol so wipe it down with that too?

It doesn't take much of a gap for a fly to get through. We had weather stripping issues around our door which let in lady bugs (much preferable to flies).

In addition to the approaches mentioned above to kill the flies, they also don't like Formula 409. It seems to take out a lot of kinds of insects; we use it for this type of application in addition to its regular purpose, but as a side-benefit it cleans while it kills!
