Marker/brake light sealant

Just got the camper out of storage and running through it in preparation for skiing. Noticed that I have a lot of play in my rear light and that sealant isn't a tight seal to light.
What product do you guys recommend? Do you typically run a bead back over it and let it cure of are you cutting and scraping old material out and applpying new to the trailer and lens for the light??

Use putty/butyl tape between lamp base and trailer. We use clear silicone across top and sides. Clean off all old stuff first.

Thanks. I'm sure I will have a bunch more questions this week as I run through it.
