I've had good luck with automotive windshield washing solution. So much so that it's all that I use on the house as well.

I've had good luck with Meguiare's Hard water spot remover. As dark tinted windows tend to dry quickly in the sun, rigged up a squeegee on extension rod to pull the water off after washing.

For what you've spent in cleaning solutions you could've bought a rv water softener, NO MORE spots.

Not to argue, but did you intend to say you could have bought a de-ionizer??? Around here, water softeners replace calcium/magnesium with sodium (salt) and if you leave "soft water" on a vehicle, you just get "sodium spots" (salt spots) instead of calcium or magnesium spots. They're all white, crusty and make the windows look dirty. A de-ionizer breaks down the water so it won't "pill" and it slips off the surface without leaving spots.

Works like a charm. I use it with my DA buffer if something is bad. Cheap and works, can't beat that. Use it inside and out, just don't get it on black trim it will leave a white stain!

Some mirrors used on today's vehicles have the "shiny side/reflective surface" on the exterior of the glass. Older styles have the "glass on the outside" to protect the reflective surface. Using an abrasive cleaner on the mirror "could" damage the reflective properties if the reflective surface is on the outside. Use with caution and test your mirror surface before "powering down" on a mirror....

As for RV windows, many are now "e-coated" with a film that protects the interior from UV rays. On some, that coating is on the inside, on others, it's on the outside. Check the owner's manual/window manual included with your RV to determine if abrasive products/polishing compounds are suitable for your windows. YMMV

I posted this because I "destroyed the windows in a sun room by using ammonia and newspaper to clean them..... Cost, roughly $2500 to replace the windows. We elected to leave them alone since we were selling the house within a year..... Again, YMMV

Bar Keepers Friend and a good microfiber cloths and some elbow grease is all you need.
