Newbie Keystoner- Upstate NY

Just bought a 2024 Keystone Bullet Crossfire 1700bh and haven't even taken delivery yet. This is our third unit. Started with a Coleman pop-up, then went to a 2007 Jayco Jayfeather 23b to this unit.

We do a good amount of boondocking trackside racing BMX and Mountain bikes all over the country, as well as family vacations!!

Looking forward to utilizing the knowledge of all my fellow Keystoners to help me make some mods. I'll be diving into solar so please share some thread links that may help.

Welcome to the forums and congrats on getting your new Bullet. I don't do "solar" at all, so can't help you much there. But I do wish you well and great success with your camper making new memories. Happy Camping!

Welcome from middle TN. We have solar with our 2023 Cougar 23MLE and love it. I am still learning about it so will not be of much to you on that subject. What I do know [?] is that if one installs solar they should also install lithium batteries as well as a appropriate controller and converter.

IMO installing solar doesn’t mean you need to install LiPo4 batteries. For the cost of 2 100aH lithium’s you can get a LOT more aH from a pair of 6V GC batteries for a LOT LESS money and no need to change the converter if it’s not lithium compatible.

The reason I recommended lithium batteries was that they can be used to 100% discharge where lead/acid batteries should not be discharged below 50%. The cost of lithium batteries has dropped considerably while lead/acid has not. Another consideration is that lithium batteries weigh far less than lead/acid.
