Emergency housing

So, my next full time newbie question deals with breaking down on the road. What creative/cheap ways does everyone employ when their rig breaks down and it has to go into a repair facility for say a week. Unfortunately, we don't have a lot of family or friends throughout the U.S. that could serve as a support group.

If you can't stay in it at the repair facility while repairs are being made, a hotel/motel is your only option. The only time we had to have repairs made in a shop while still under warranty, we stayed three nights in a hotel. Since then, no repairs have been made in a shop. We did have the fridge worked on a couple of times, but that was done by a mobile RV repair company while in an RV park.
