New from SE Louisiana

Hello all. I am transferring from the Forest River forum, as i just pulled the trigger on a Passport 3220BH.

My family and I have been RVing for six years on the Passport is my third unit. I have been tent camping since a kid, and spent six years tenting with my two oldest boys.

Love the state parks. Camping is our way of escaping reality and the electronic world and getting back to "roughing it"

South Mississippi Camper

My camper is based in South Mississippi.

Where are some nice campgrounds in Louisiana?

We visited Lake Ponchatrain; and it seemed nice.

We are really looking to find out when some Cajun music/food festival occurs.

Traveling through LA

We are planning our spring/summer trip now and have decided to visit the Alamo (grandkids have be watching the old Disney film "Davy Crockett" - and the Alamo was the last scene). So, of course we will be traveling through LA. We are very interested in State Parks - GA St Parks are great.
Do you have any suggestions on which Parks to visit - or those NOT to visit?
3 grandkids (ages 7, 12, 15) will be with us so we want to hit those places that will be of interest to them and keep them busy.
