Waste Dumping at home
I saw this on Pintrest and would like the forum opinion, all this because when I had my $7k sewer done last year I forgot to add an RV dump station 23' away, just dumb. This may solve my problem.

Interesting, but I think I'd pass on such a set up. Looks like too much potential for a "crappy" problem to go everywhere. I also am unsure of the legality of pumping directly into a sewer like he talks about -- brings back memories of "Crapper's full, Clark" from Christmas Vacation.

My parents had an opening to their septic tank for their 5th wheel, but that’s different from a municipal sanitary sewer. In fact, where our lie runs, I could dig down and add a “cleanout” next to the garage that would allow me to dump just like at a RV park dump station. It would require a permit, however, and I don’t know if it would be allowed. Messy as it may be, it would be cheaper to just buy a sewage tank, carry it in and dump slowly into the toilet.

I bought a “blue boy” waste tank on wheels. It is 2 gallons bigger than my black tank. My trailer is parked in the back yard and I have a 4 in sewer clean out in the front yard. The sewer clean out is threaded so I can screw my sewer hose into it. I dump my black tank into the blue boy, wheel it into the front yard, and dump it down the clean out. Works great.

Would it not be easier to stop at a dump station be it municipal or at a campground and off load the black tank. We live in an isolated part of BC but always seem to drive by a dump station on the way home from whatever area we camp at. JMHO

Since my trailer is in the backyard, we use it as a guest house and so the black tank gets filled occasionally. Also, in Southern California there are not really any free/cheap places to dump. The closest place to my house charges $25 just to dump.

That thing you picture is a macerator pump. I pump from my rv parking spot to a clean out that goes into my septic system. I also have an extra lid for my 1st tank that I epoxied a cleanout into and can pull the trailer down to the septic tank and dump with no issues. Folks have opinions that may not have actually used a macerator pump but they actually work fine. You just need to have a large diameter garden hose going into your septic system. I know nothing about city sewer systems and don't know if this is legal but doubt it would be any more difficult than dumping into a septic tank. For folks who want you to drive to a dump station, not sure how long it takes to get your trailer packed up for travel and set it up again but OUCH, it takes an old guy like me at LEAST an hour to an hour and a half on each side of the process.

OK I understand your reasoning.

Why would you have to use a macerator no matter if it was going into the primary tank of a septic system or into the municipal sewer system ?
Your toilet in the house does not have a macerator.

I do because the "cleanout" I'm pumping to is ~3.5' higher than the outlet of my black tank when I'm parked.
There's nothing quick about the process, but I can do it at my leisure.
Trailer deep cycle batteries are locked in a Harbor Freight tongue box, so I plumbed a higher amp all-weather cigarette lighter style outlet in the side of the box and made an extension cord for our macerator using old trolling motor wiring and plugs.
Also- The OP photo looks to me to be a kitchen sink garbage disposal with questionable water-tighteness of the electrical connections

I see now, guess one should never assume. Just because my septic tank is the same gradient as my driveway, does not mean that everyone's is.
Thanks for the update.

I am not sure if I would want to drag that bucket of goodie through the kitchen or the living room to dump it in the toilet. With my luck the tank would split or the cap would fall off.

But, if your septic is lower than the RV does anyone see any reason why you could not just dump into your septic tank?
I have thought about doing the same thing and can see no down side but could very easily be missing something? Good question before I start installing some line this summer.

If what goes into your black tank is the same "stuff" as what goes into your home toilet, then there's no "biological difference". Depending on the size of your home septic tank, you may not be able to dump the contents of a 50 gallon RV waste tank at one time. If you use chemicals in your RV tank, particularly formaldehyde, you could damage the bacterial action in your home septic system. Other than "overloading the tank" or "damaging the bacteria" there's essentially no difference in "adding the black tank contents" or "flushing the home toilet"......

Hi. I regularly dump my TT black tank into my home septic tank.
So far...no problems.

I purchased this macertor, from amazon.com and have used it several times to "dump" at home.
I connect a garden hose to it and pump the tanks into the toilet in the guest suite of the house.
I added an anderson connector, on a short 8 GA cable, at the battery box and also put one on the power cable for the pump.
I plug my solar panel into the same connector.
I have also thought of using the pump to fill and drain the blue tank, while keeping it in the bed of the truck, instead of trying to drag it with the hitch.

The first thing that is going to be developed on our new property will be an RV pad with full hookups including a sewer dump. We are planning on building our house and living in the RV when it is being built
