Hello, jamtracy, do you have any pics and did you install it yourself?

Jonathon,
Which Hatch-lift bed lift kit did you use? They have two that may fit, small (BLK-SML and standard queen. I also own a Bullet which came with a short queen mattress. I've since lengthen the platform compartment plywood lid to accommodate a full queen mattress (6 inches longer). The new mattress weighs about 60 lbs. The OEM mattress weighed about 40 lbs (I assume). It looks as if the storage compartment is about the same size as my Bullet. Any issues with the compartment lid opening? I've read some installations required a latch to keep the lid closed while towing.

I did use the BLK-SML lift kit. We do have a two inch memory foam topper. It takes a slight tug to raise. I don't believe it will lift going down the road, but I'll find out at the end of the month. As for a heavier mattress, I wasn't to. concerned. I have source for stronger lifts when we upgrade mattress in the future if needed.

I split the awning and step lighting to separate switches. I didn't like having the LED awning lights on all the time.

Mine’s at the dealer for a recall but they called yesterday stating they need it for longer because when they were installing a new maxair cover for me they dropped a drill on the awning. Whoops.

Bunk Room railings and ladder
I added railings to the top bunks and a ladder to the left bunk. We have an old bunk bed ladder for the right bunk. The right side railing had to be removable since the bunk folds up.

Beefed up "styrofoam floor"
Soft spots were driving me nuts. I added extra joists which were twice as thick as the original aluminum tubing. Much better now!

Well, I've just completed the beta version of a home made system to make my OEM folding steps more solid. There's a lot of back and forth regarding the benefits of the Lippert and MorRyde systems. The Glow Step gets high marks but it's also quite expensive.
I was hoping to do something myself that offered the best of both worlds with folding steps for access no matter how tight the parking but also solid. Here's what I've come up with...I will still probably paint this flat black but this is the beta version. We haven't gone camping with these yet and I may need to tinker with the best way to clamp these to the steps.
I bought the square extruded aluminum from Amazon, a few stainless carriage bolts, washers, wing nuts, and hard rubber feet from ACE, and made the brackets out of coated flat steel.
This allows me about 6" of adjustment. If that's not enough I can use blocks but I also have a plan B version that builds on this. The result, however, is pretty amazing. Feels as sturdy as one of the much more expensive alternatives.
Here is the aluminum I bought:

Here's how it looks. Be kind...it's a work in progress:

Put in a Mor-Ryde suspension, wet bolts and crossbar.

Took it on its maiden voyage, found the the front grey water valve is not connected to the wire and is open. Good thing son in law is quick on his feet :-)
I had to modify my existing cord/water hose reel set up to fit the smaller space in the Cougar it works but I need to tweek it some. The first picture is the "new" set up in the cougar, the second was the way it was. had a lot bigger basement in the old rig. Daughter made an anti climb "fence" for the top bunk to supplement the existing metal fence (3 year old twins) it works very well, I will post some pictures when I can.

So to pack up, you have to loosen four wingnuts, flip the two bottom tabs down, and slide the two top wingnuts and tabs out of the stock slot?

Exactly. Basically just loosen the wing nuts and the braces almost fall off the steps.
