Brake controller

We have the Tekonsha Voyager controller. It seems to be very inconsistent, being grabby most of the time. Looking through the truck cannot seem to find the little manual. Questions: It has a dial on the left and right? Function of both. Is it necessary for it to be level when mounted? Thank you.
Is the Voyager still a good controller? Looking at the Tekonsha P2 Prodigy, it says it will auto adjust for all conditions and weights. Or if we may chose to upgrade later, some suggestions?
Info appreciated!!

Can’t go wrong with a prodigy. P2 or P3 is a major improvement over the voyager IMO.

You can go to the tekonsha website and it will have all the specs and owners manuals for all their products. I bought my prodigy when it was “second” generation, red LED readout. It’s still going strong.

For the little up charge there is, I would consider a P3. I had one on my Yukon Denali and it did a wonderful job controlling my trailer, both at highway speeds and in stop and go traffic. Controls and display are easy to adjust and navigate through. It provided refined adjustments that helped eliminate the "Hensley bump" on my Hensley Arrow hitch.
