We've found in our pole barn that the folding, interlocking lids don't keep out critters. They also don't keep out moths which lay eggs in woolen items and render them useless in a season....
We also found that the "snap lid" type don't seal very well and if they have vent holes, they don't protect the contents from condensation.
So, we've spent a "small fortune" on buying different types of storage containers for the pole barn. Right now, after 3 seasons of use, we've found that the plastic containers with "snap-over locking lid tabs" that don't have vent holes are the most secure against small critters and also prevent moths from getting inside.
Watch, with my luck, this spring when we pull things out of the pole barn, everything in those containers will be damaged..... Sheesh, does it ever end ??? LOL
Anyway, that's what I've found over the past few years.
