I think John had the answer. Fashion a cork to fit the vent tube. After filling the FW tank put the plug in. When you get to where you are going take the cork out. I know this is a low tech solution but is easy to do. Living in the mountains we always try to fill with water once we get to our destination so as to save the shifting weight factor. But that only works if we are not going "dry" camping. Now I am wondering if maybe I have been losing water the few times I have hauled it. I will be whittling a cork today I think.
