First time owner! 2020 3701FL

Hey y’all! First time here. We’re hopefully only going to be in it two years while we build our new home. So I live in a very warm summer climate. From Jun-Sept have very many 95°-105° days. I’m looking to figure out how to keep it as cool as possible. Unfortunately I don’t think I’ll have the time to build a cover for it. I only have 110 right now. Will have 240 here soon. I am wanting to run some solar on top but not sure how to even start that. I have so many more questions haha and I look forward to swapping ideas. Have a blessed day

If your trailer is 50A service, make sure you install the correct outlet. Your trailer uses 2 legs of 50A 120 for a TOTAL of 100 amps at 120VAC. Nothing in your trailer uses 240VAC

You need 2 A/Cs (at least) if it doesn't have them.

Thanks for this info. So I don’t need to install the 240? I’m not great at electrical. If there’s a video you can link me to, I’d appreciate it. Thanks

Yes, unfortunately you will need a 240 volt service. As Chuckster explained you will have a 240 volt power pedestal but your unit only utilizes each of the 120 volt legs. YouTube and Google will explain the pedestal necessary. Or another member will explain in detail.

Is there a link you can Send? I don't know how to look it up on google with the right keywords. Right now I'm currently running off a 110 for the most the RV besides furnace which is propane. I also do have 2 air conditioners a microwave and the refrigerator all I believe running off the 110. So I'll still have to do the 240 though right to make sure that it's all running on proper voltage? I'm sorry if this doesn't make sense I'm just not very good with the electrical my 1st time owning an RV.

Are you familiar with electricity and wiring it? Working in/on a breaker panel? If not trying to wire in a 100A breaker (50A double pole) should be done by a professional. I can send a link on how to wire the receptacle but it has to be wired in the breaker panel. You don't want to "learn" electricity working in a breaker panel.

The correct gauge wire must also be used. I suggest you hire an electrician and make sure the electrician understands the install is for a 50A RV outlet.

You will not be able to run 2 ac’s at the same time off of regular 110. If you don’t have the knowledge to wire your 50 amp service yourself then hire an electrician. It will be worth the money you pay. If you wire it incorrectly you could short everything out in the camper. 50 amp 240 volt service in a camper is not the same as for a house or a dryer.

Make sure he knows it's a 50A RV outlet - he should know but some don't. Attached is a link you can give him to SHOW him what the plug looks like and where those hot leads are;
