Water Heater Gas Does Not Work

Our hot water heater works fine when running on electric, but does not work on gas. On gas the igniter clicks but does not fire up.

Any lessons learned that may help a newbie?
Thank you!

Can you smell propane?
Some of the lines take a few cycles to purge.

Sorry for asking, do you have propane in the tanks?

Has it ever worked? Is this the first time you've tried to use it? Does the stove/oven work? If you have LP you might turn on the stove top burners to make sure that you are getting propane flow and get rid of any excess air there might be in the lines.

Thank you everyone, we appreciate your help!

Yes, we smell propane and have propane in the tanks. We used the inside and outside stovetop regularly during the week. The water heater ran on gas/electric (both) Memorial weekend. This week was the first time we’ve had to go electric only for it to work.

Some good troubleshooting stuff on the internet under Suburban water heaters which is usually what's in your Keystone. Does not need to be a Keystone vid or PDF .

I had that issue with mine during the first year of ownership. Bad circuit board. Replaced under warranty. No issues since.

I had the circuit board go bad in my last trailer also. It’s a pretty common failure. When it went bad on mine, I wired in an on/off toggle switch for the rest of our trip. When I got home I replaced the circuit board with one from Dinosaur Electronics. Way better quality than the original.

x2 on dinosaur board. If it’s still under warranty you don’t have a choice.
