Which type regulator

I have two propane tanks. One with an auto switching regulator and one with just what looks like a single stage regulator. The single stage one whines when propane is being used, so I want to replace it. Do I get a low pressure or high pressure one?

If I remember correctly, the "off regulator side" uses a "red, 30 PSI regulator/safety shutoff" device. If you remove it, you should see some markings on it that would give you enough information to do a google search to be sure, but AFAIK, it's a 30 PSI regulator.

If all it does is whine, unless it’s loud enough to hear inside, I would leave it alone.

It is actually described as a high pressure regulator. https://www.rveparts.com/rv-lp-propa...psi-megr-630b/

It is required to prevent propane in a gas state turning into a liquid state in the piping crossing from one side of the RV to the other, which would cause a problem in the other regulator as it can not handle propane as a liquid.

Was able to take a picture of the top and yes it is a high pressure one. Ordering an exact replacement, as it’s only $14.00. Just hope that cures the noise, I think it should, don’t think it’s a hose issue as someone suggested but who knows, worth $14 to find out.

Make sure that where a pipe sealant is needed, that you use a sealant, either tape or dope, that is rated for propane use.

Got an exact replacement, it still makes noise, but at least can't hear it inside the RV

Next time get the Marshall brand of regulator, it'll cost a couple $$ more than the cheap Chinese brand but is much better quality.

This is a Marshall brand, but no where in the site does it mention country of origin.

I stopped at a long time RV repair shop yesterday to pick up a replacement pigtail for the propane tank. Anyway, the tech said China has become the primary source for most RV parts. The parts are made in China and then maybe assembled in USA to wear made in US logo.

LED assemblies are another "prime example" of this process. The LED boards are manufactured in China, shipped to the US where the bases (also made in China) are soldered to the board and a "MADE IN USA" sticker is applied. Often, the price is $10-15 for those LED assemblies and the same product, assembled (base soldered to the board) in China can be bought for $1. The "trick" (difficult part) is to find the same product assembled elsewhere. Often times, the LED boards that don't meet inspection criteria are the ones sold at reduced pricing. So, finding a reliable Chinese source of "not rejected products" is the key.....

In many cases, maybe even in most cases, the "MADE IN USA" is no longer available in its "true sense of the term".....

I don't know "country of origin" of the Marshall brand of regulators, but from experience I know they are better quality than most.
