Anyone pull a 335tg with a 250/2500?

Looking for loaded pin weight and feedback from owners of the Laredo 335tg. Good and bad

Based on the Keystone specs it has a pin weight right around 2k lbs (expect loaded to be around 2.5k) and a max gvwr of 13k. You are on the upper edge of a 250/2500 capabilities, but should still be okay. I used to pull a Jayco (2008- 291RLTS) that had similar numbers with a 2011- 2500 duramax without issues. When we stepped up to our current Alpine which is about 1k heavier on the pin and 2.5k heavier on gvwr, we NEEDED a 3500 dually.

You would definitely be over GVWR for a 250 and close for a 350 SRW depending on what you have loaded in the truck. GVWR for a 250 is 10k. A 350 SRW is 11.4k and a DRW is 14k.

Maximum pin weight for a fifth wheel and 250 is less than 2k assuming the actual weight of the tow vehicle is 8k. For me, curb weight for my 250 is ~6k plus, fuel, four people, dog, truck bed tool box, supplies in truck. My travel weight is at 8.2k without the trailer. Leaves me with a 1.8k tongue or pin capacity. My tongue weight is 1.4k.

Ironically, you can tow a larger TT than a 5er because of the weight distribution. 10-15% of TT is tongue weight. 20-25% of 5er is pin weight.

Bottom line. Will the truck do it? Yes. Safety of your passengers aside, If you are in an accident and your weights exceed what is on the inside of the trucks door you will be in a tight spot.

That's what I thought. I will probably stick to the 36ft TT. That will keep me safe on pay load and keep my bed empty for bikes and accessories. The only issue is the lack of underneath storage in TT's.

My 2011 Duramax 2500 crew cab LT weighed in at 7400 with two adults , 5th wheel hitch, and a full tank. Left me with 2600 available payload with the 10k GVWR. When you tow a 5th wheel you typically don't have much in the bed so gear/cargo isn't much of a concern. You have to stay with 2011 and newer trucks as the payloads were increased quite a bit (I believe for all brands) that year.

I currently have a 2012 F250 with PSD. I haven't weighed it yet, but from reading it seems like it will weigh in around 8K with 3-3200 on the rear axle leaving 2k in payload and 3K on my Rawr. My door sticker says 1998 Payload. I may try to find a smaller fifth wheel with a GVW of 10-11. That way my Pin would be roughly 2k. I might be slightly over my Payload but well under my RAWR and Tire rating of 7500. I should have bought a 350 when I bought this one, but as it turns out the factory Payload numbers are off a little. Oh well, as it turns out our favorite floorplan happens to be in a TT so i will probably just go that route.

Depends on the 250/2500s configuration.

Have seen 2500s with 16000 pd towing and close to 4000pds of payload. There may be even higher out there, just what I seen.

I think the MAX RAWR is 6290 lbs for all F250's from 2011 through current and the majority of "standard/optional build rear axles are rated at 6100 lbs, The max RAWR for the F350 SRW is 7180 lbs. Tires may be rated higher depending on wheel/tire options on your specific truck, but the axle rating is nowhere close to 7500 lbs. There are those that will state that the F250 and F350 are built with the same axles and springs (to a certain extent they are with the exception of spring packs which differ depending on options selected for the truck), but the "tag certification" on the door is likely to be 6100 pounds and the max for a F250 is 6290.

My 2002 F-350 SRW crew cab PSD with tool box weighs about 7,500 with a full tank and driver. That vintage F-350 only has a 9,900# GVWR, so the rig you are asking about would be right at or just over my trucks rated capabilities. F-250's of the same age have only an 8,800# GVWR.

Its not the trucks max towing number that really matters, its your tow vehicles GVWR because you will bump up against that well before you hit the max tow number. Newer F-350's have a 11,500# GVWR, and F250's are 10,000 I believe.

My truck is rated at 10k, rear axle is 6100. I have pretty much decided on a TT.
