How do you secure Rear Lounge chairs

I just bought a 2014 Avalanche 295RL, but upgraded to the 2015 Alpine lounge chairs. They move very freely, the mechanic at the dealer when I bought it said don't worry about the chairs, just close the slides and he did. Got home and the chair succeeded in knocking the fascia off the wall. How do you all secure the glider/rocker/recliner chairs in the rear.

Thanks in advance.

Mine have straps on each side that secure them.

It was most likely able to move on its base and knocked against the wall. If yours are like ours, they're very heavy and won't slide on the rug easily, but will move on their base if not restrained. We've two recliners in one slide and originally had nothing to tie them down. Although I installed tie down anchors for them, I've found they'll stay put if they are jammed up against the end walls or themselves as well as the outside one, so they can't move around on their bases. I also put a throw blanket between the headrests so they won't rub on each other. Don't know if this will work for your floor plan, but it does in ours.

With our previous 5er, we put them back to back and tied them together with a tye strap and never had movement.

Our Cougar Xlite had the 2 swivel rockers. They pulled the window curtain hardware out of the wall. I got some 1" wide strapping material with buckles (WalMart camping dept.) that is used to cinch down sleeping bags and wrapped that around the chairs to secure them to each other.

Ours have d rings in the floor and we strap them down with the provided straps. If you don't have that you could install some and just use 1" wide webbing with an adjustable clasp. We also cover them to protect them and keep the straps from causing damage. If you don't want to do that the previous posters have given some examples of how to stop the movement. IMO you don't want movement because they WILL cause damage to either the chair or the camper.

When we had our Copper Canyon it had two chairs in the back and when we picked it up I asked about tying them down and they told you done have to. The first trip out they moved around so much that they wrecked the back screen, the rear blind and put a hole in the wall. Went to the hardware store and bought some small d rings and screwed them to the floor and used two small straps with towels over the arm rests as no to damage the chairs, Worked great. So what ever you do strap them down.

Our Alpine with the two rockers came with tie down straps and hooks. FYI, with just my wife and I we removed one of the rockers and replaced with and end table. As previously mentioned, I would think strapping them together would hold them in place. Good luck.

Thanks

I had been tying down the rear recliners in my 05 Cardinal also a rear lounge, but it's recliners had a lock built into the chair to keep them from rocking. Our new 2014 295RL Avalanche now have the new chairs and couch from a 2015 rear lounge Alpine, they are very nice chairs, but they move every direction. I put the D rings on the sides and then put one on each side of the back floor so that they don't move too much. I was just wondering if someone had made something so that they don't have to put straps on the arms and backs of the chairs.
Thanks

Mine came with "D" rings screwed to the floor and one inch straps. Really a pain in the butt to get my recliners in position for travel, wedged against the back wall in a very specific configuration.

Our Alpine came with "D" rings and straps as well. Works we'll for us!

In my Cougar I lay the 2 recliners into the couch. Strap them in and close the slide. They ride great there.

Although we have and use the D-rings and straps, I am pretty sure that just putting them back-to-back as we already do and then strap them together would work just as well. They don't walk at all, but strapping together would prevent other movement and wouldn't be as difficult as the D-rings.
Let's face it, in an accident, nothing is going to keep them in place.

Our previous Cougar had the D ring hold down straps. Didn't work too well. Get more strapping material and lock them down.
