Turn Shower into tub?

Is there a way or product to plug the drain in a shower unit to make it a tub to give my infant a bath? I don't have my trailer yet but was looking to prepare for when I take ownership the first of Aug.

Here's one alternative: Usually found at WalMart, KMart, any hardware store and most online retailers....

Rather than "turning the shower into a tub" why not purchase a small tub designed to give babies a bath? There are a number of them on the market - some of which are "hard" and others that are "soft" inflatable types. When your infant has grown out of the baby tub, perhaps a larger tub can be bought or by that time - maybe a shower.

If you make physical changes to the shower to suit your baby, you will probably end up making another change later on when baby "grows up".

Google "baby portable tubs" or similar and you'll find a number of retailers who sell this product.

I have a couple baby tubs but they don't work that great. My boy is 13 months so I guess he's not a infant any more it's to hard to keep him in those tubs.

Usually the sides are not high and the floor might be rough. I would go with either a portable one or a hand off, hold the baby for a quick shower and hand off so you can shower quickly.

If your son is too big and too mobile for one of the infant tubs, then you can try sitting him on the shower floor - it's no harder than an regular bath tub - and use a hand-held shower. If he doesn't like sitting on the floor, try a small, plastic footstool.

Or, failing that, try using a drain plug stopper and fill up the bottom of the shower as much as you can.

Maybe some of the "camping moms or dads" who have a year old child can chime and offer suggestions as to how they manage.

Petroboy,

As I understand it, you bought a 2006 Sprinter fifth wheel "bunkhouse model" that is 30' long and you haven't yet taken delivery which is supposed to be in early August.

What model Sprinter did you buy? The reason I'm asking is that from what I can find, there were 4 Sprinter models produced that year around the 30 ft length. Two have showers and two have shower/tub combinations. Which did you buy? It will make a significant difference if you have a "tub" vs a shower with a 3" lip around the pan.

Turn Shower into tub?

I'm not sure of the model number but it has a shower only and not the combo unit. I seen that for sure. If it had the tub as well it would work good for us. I think we will look for a stopper and give that a try if not probably then a hand held shower head. Thanks for the help guys, I will find out the model number for sure. I'm a total newbie at this as I thought all the sprinters were the same but only different sizes. I have so much to learn.

I know this sounds crude but a large plastic tote that fits in your shower works great. That is a what we used to use. Sometimes when warm out we would fill it with outside shower faucet, bath him outside and then dump on ground when done. Our little one didn't care.

Congratulations!

Steve -
You've just made the next edition of "This Weeks Top Five". The last two sentences of your post clinched it! Misplaced modifiers or dangling participle - take your pick. People do say the funniest things. If you don't quite understand why you've made the Top Five, I'll explain it tonight when the late, late and latest edition finally appears.

Yeah, I guess that does sound a little rough. How funny. I'm stoked that I made the top 5 and didn't even try.

Tub

I have a 2011 Keystone Montana and it has a garden tub/shower enclosure in the bath and it works fine!
