led step light

We own a 2014 Alpine 3010 RE and have had issues with the Led light under the step. It works for a few days then the fuse blows for unknown reasons. The dealership did try to repair it, found a crimp in the wire, but it still blows the fuse. Anyone had this problem or have a solution? We love the step light and would love to have it working properly.

Remove the light from it's mount. Pull the wires out about 6 - 10 " then cut the black wire (hot) about 3 inches from the lamp. Then try light again and see if fuse blows. If it does, it's wiring internal to the trailer and you will need to trouble shoot. If it does not then replace lamp as it is defective.

On our Montana, the under step light works off the same switch as the curb side scare light. If yours is the same, you might want to check the scare light. It may be full of water and corroded, which would blow a fuse. The last time I had to replace the scare light bulb, there was quite a bit of corrosion inside the fixture.
