As to the cord, I am certain it was chewed by coyotes.

Found an interesting article on axleaddict.com - this info is pulled from there and not sure how valid the numbers are but A/C start up AND the hot water heating element churning away seem to eat a lot of the 30 Amps available...

Typical Appliances and How Much Current They Draw
EQUIPMENT Max CURRENT
RV Air Conditioner (Start-up) 12-15 Amps
RV Air Conditioner (Running) 3-6 AMps
Chargers (small electronics) 0.5 to 1.5 Amps
Coffee Pot (Brewing) 7-9 Amps
Coffee Pot (Warming) 1-3 Amps
Crock Pot (Cooking - High) 3-5 Amps
Crock Pot (Warming) 1-2 Amps
Food Processor 5-8 Amps
Frying Pan (Cooking - High) 7-10 Amps
Hair Dryer (High) 7-12 Amps
Heater, Electric (Small Space) 4-10 Amps
Iron (High) 8-10 Amps
Microwave Oven (Standard) 7-9 AMps
Microwave Oven (Convection) 7-14 Amps
PC, Notebook) 1-3 Amps
Refrigerator (2-door medium size) 2-4 Amps
Toaster 8-10 Amps
TV, Digital 1-3 Amps
Vacuum (Hand-Held) 2-4 Amps
Water Heater (6-gallon, heating) 8-12 Amps

As a matter of fact, without a slow start, a 15000 BTU air conditioner will pull 52 amps on the spike at startup. It's so momentary, that most gauges will not show it unless they have a capture feature. Otherwise, you're looking at 10 amps on one leg and 11 amps on the other, during running conditions.

On our last 30 AMP trailer I made the hotwater heater switchable to a separate inlet and plugged in the 30 amp and the 20 amp convenience outlet for the water hot heater. DW tripped the 30 amp breaker a lot less with this setup.

You didn't use those black Marinco screws??? I did the same but for my microwave and put the outside outlet on the back (we have a rear kitchen). I want AC and bacon!

I had another for Converter input for my eu1000i at the time. I had a Heart Interface Freedom 10 / 1000 inverter with a 50 amp four stage charger that was to much for the eu1000i. The inverter would fun the microwave or hair dryer where the gen would not. Chris
