Carlisle Radial Trail HD tires? Anyone Have them?

Just bit the bullet and purchased a complete set of 5 new Carlisle Radial Trail HD tires (225/75R15D - 6H04611) for the camper and now I am having second thoughts like usual.

Wondering is anyone else is running this brand and model of tires on their trailers.

I check the date code on the existing ones last night and the are over 4 years old, so it was time to change. Called around to local tire stores and was first shocked at the price, then looked at Walmart and found them for $61/tire. A hell of a savings from 600+ for 4 at Bell Tire for same tires.

I While I was trying to figure out what model of Carlisle tires to use I called them up directly and they stated that their high mileage tire line for trailers where these.

Any and all comments are welcome, I know these are still made in China, but are supposedly better than most coming from China. Quality control wise.

There are lots of us running the Carlisle HD as well as previous RH tires. Everyone that I know of is pleased so far with the HDs. The RHs had very good reviews and the HDs so far do too. Do a site search for "tires" or "carsile" and you will come up with a LOT of information, a lot of it very recent. You made a good choice in tire and a better choice in getting the 4 year old bombs off of there. And yes, Wmart has great prices on them right now. Enjoy.

I recently did the same thing, my OEM tires were 4+ years old.

I found a good price for the size I wanted (205/75R14 LRD) on amazon and the local discount tire matched it.

I figure buying them from discount will provide more options, if I ever have problems with them out on the road.

We leave on the 12th, for our first trip of the season, I'll report back on how I like them.

I think there are a few Walmarts when on the road.

Recently upgraded mine from Rainier E brand tire and uped the load capacity to F with the Carlisle Radial Trail HD running at 95 psi - haven't looked back. Excellent tire.

Double b, There are many of us that use this Carlisle Radial Trail RH or HD tire in various sizes. As stated in a previous post do a search say for tires and you will have enough tire information to last through the night at least.
Great tire going on third year

Make sure you get them balanced. Smoother ride, better mileage and better wear factor. When I bought my fist tandem trailer in 1995, on the way home I thought what the crap have I done! After balancing the tires, the difference was AMAZING!

I originally purchased the same size and load rating Carlisle tire from 3 different tire merchants. All 3 companies brought in LRDs that had DOT dates at 1 year old. I rejected all 3 sets. I finally took a chance on LREs from Wal-Mart and they turned out to be less than 3 months old. Point being, inventories can get stale and trailer tires have a definitive life expectancy from the "born on date". 3-5 years is your replacement window. If you're conservative like me, I wanted to be sure that I got 3 full service seasons from time of purchase.
