2020 Cougar 366RDS Solar Prep

Hoping someone has a similar unit. The only thing I can find on my unit that indicates is prepped in some way for Solar. No ports on the roof to connect panels. the only thing I can find is a Solar Generator Plug in the basement where the water connections are.

According to the brochure, you should have the portable solar panel side port (your picture) plus a pre-wired roof port. Your pre-wiring for inverter/outlets should be terminated in the pass-thru, probably behind a removable panel.

I had a 2020 Cougar TT with this same setup. This is the standard OTG "off the grid" solar/inverter prep package.

Look Some More

I dont recall seeing any ports on the roof. But will check again today.
I bought this used so maybe some of the stickers that are suppose tell you where the wiring is behind what panels was removed.

No Solar Prep

So I climbed up on the roof today and no solar ports to be found. Do some more Goggling and found that Keystone started putting in the Solar prep package that is shown on the Brochure mid year. So if you trailer was built early in the year all you is the the Plug wired to your batteries,

My 2019 has “solar prep” which consists of a Zamp port on the front wall of the trailer. It is just wired direct to the batteries. I used a Renogy suitcase panel with built in charge controller, plugged the panel into the port and that was the extent of my solar. It did the job when I needed it to.

I purchased a 366RDS new in January of 2020. The plug in your pic is for a little portable solar panel that came with the unit. Very small maybe 12"x12" in size. Pretty much useless. The 2020 brochure does show that model year came standard with solar prep but I believe the very early models didn't have it. I have a West version.
