Need a better battery tie down strap

The battery strap that came with the camper rotted out years ago and it seems that the replacement straps don't last any longer. I'm currently using a rubber "tarp strap", like what truckers use, but it doesn't really fit well and I'm worried that it'll come unhooked while driving down the road.

Does anyone have a recommendation of a strap that won't rot away and that will keep my battery from falling off when travelling?

Thanks

Daryl

My battery straps are enclosed so they haven't given me problems. I have had the cheap polyester straps that weathered badly and literally tore apart on other equipment. This link is to a heavier strap I bought once that seemed pretty good;

Find a good ol' fashioned "Army / NAVY" store and get a military web belt and buckle? Otherwise rubber bungee straps come in all sizes.

Good Luck,

I keep it simple and cheap, I got rubber trucker straps that fit, they will wear out and then get replaced that seems like every few years. Bunage type are about the same. I check the batteries several times a year so having them fail before maintenance checks is not going to happen.

You might try something like this strap:

They are available at WalMart in the camping section and at any sporting goods store in the camping/backpacking sections.

Thanks. I'll take a look at these.
