Coleman Mach 15 Quiet with Heating Element Installed

Hey has anyone with Coleman Mach 15 ducted A/C system using the touch screen IN-Comman system, ever install the Heating element they sale for it?

My unit came element ready. Just install and plug in the 2 pin connector into the control box. My question is how to get it to work?

I can’t figure out if I need to have something changed in the in-command system or not. I’ll take photos of the install tomorrow and post them. Just looking to see if anyone has done this install yet. Oh my A/C unit only operates by the in-command system.

Wow I must be the 1st to do this, with this type of a setup. I am still waiting on both A/C maker and in-command make to see what they say

It turns out that my control box part # 9430-752, is not the right one. I need 9430-756.

Oh yeah I change it out with the correct part and put it all back together and it fired right up like the manufacturer said it would

Would you mind stating how good the heatstrip works? Does it warm the entire 5th wheel? Did you install 1 in the main AC or a 2nd in the bedroom AC? I ask because I would like to do this.

Stop and think about what you have there....a heat strip that is no more than 1500 Watts.....or basically the equivalent of a hand held hair dryer. Then take a look at the math involved to REALLY put it into perspective. There are 3.41 BTUs in a Watt of power. Multiply that times 1500 and you come up with a grand total of 5,115 BTUs. Now, think about your propane furnace in the trailer, which is likely a 35,000 BTU input unit, some of which is lost to the exhaust gas duct/vent, straight to the outside of the trailer. So even if it were only 75% efficient, that's still 26,250 BTUs. Do ya see where I'm going with this.....5100 BTUs of heat vs. 26,250 BTUs of heat.

Xrated is right. I only install the one in my bedroom. It was more for the DW, who asked if there was something I could do to take the chill off in the mornings without having to fire up the furnace.

Does it put out heat = Yes
Should it be used to heat the bedroom (replace the furnace) = No
Can it be used to take the morning chill out of the air in the bedroom = Yes

you answered my questions. I was getting the same question about morning chill in the air. I also have looked at the heatstrip in the furnace, and not worth the cost for me. for the few times we need heat, we will just run our furnace.

P&D, I forgot to add that in my 5ther I have the race track system, so when the unit in the bedroom is on weather it’s cold or heat, it will also blow out in the rest of my RV. That doesn’t mean what comes out them vents is hot. Not sure if your RV is same way.

tallen, yes Mine is also the race track. I have a 2024 Cougar 1/2 ton 23MLE. It also has 2 AC units. My thought was to put a heatstrip in both. That would be 10000 BTU, which should take the chill out. I just have to decide is it better to use 2 heatstrips or the furnace. Taking into consideration cost of the heatstrips vs cost of LP. Not to mention the noise difference. We dont use heat very often, but there are a few times. like when we went to Flagstaff. It got chily at night when we were there. I used the fireplace 1 night and a space heater another, we had a bumper pull then. both work great, just concerened about fire. My thought was heatstrip's are better.
